The Bilbao Bizkaia Design Map (BI Design Map) is an editorial platform to promote awareness of, and visibility for creative companies from the Design industry. With the content provided, such as the Company catalogue and the Success stories section, the aim is to make it easier to identify what is available in the Basque Country. BI Design Map rounds off the content offered with other sections, with services information and dissemination of the Design culture, open to interaction with the players involved. ■
BI Design Map is an initiative by the Asociación de Diseñadores de Euskadi (Designer Association of the Basque Country) (EIDE), promoted within the framework of the Programa Bizkaia Creativa (Creative Biscay Programme) from the Department of Economic and Territorial Design of the Regional Governmental of Biscay, with the public company BEAZ acting as a collaborating entity.
The BI Design Map platform is an editorial space to promote the development of professional initiatives and entrepreneurial projects in the Design industry in the city of Bilbao, the Territory of Biscay and the Basque Country.
With this purpose in mind, the aim is to raise awareness of Design teams for companies requiring their services, or to whom their services are aimed. It is also to raise awareness amongst the very teams themselves. This way, these companies, which are similar in nature and origin, can identify and contact the teams that best meet their requirements.
We base our effort on the premise that Design in the Basque Country is highly prepared to propose and carry out competitive solutions.
Furthermore, BI Design Map seeks to foster a fruitful interaction between companies and professional players from the Design industry with different organisations and entities that provide training in this discipline and that promote it.

BI Design Map’s editorial concept proposes qualified treatment of content, with the intent of offering useful information on and for the Design industry in Bilbao, in Biscay and in the Basque Country as a whole.
The information found in the different sections on this platform provides for a map of Design in the Basque Country: an updated map of professional resources to represent and stimulate the business fabric of an advanced Territory, constantly adapting to the ever-changing requirements of contemporary society.
Cartography and content
This resource map – cartography to orient and operate – pays particular heed to companies specialised in Design: the core of BI Design Map. This is why we have a Company catalogue (in the eponymous section) to raise awareness about them.
And this is why we off a space: Success stories, providing for each company to exhibit its most relevant projects. In this way, by providing visibility for the companies’ work and know-how, we contribute to raising awareness of their strengths and foment professional meetings.
A platform open to companies and professionals
BI Design Map’s desire is to actively collaborate with all Design companies and professionals. This platform is always open to new Design teams from our area (Bilbao, Biscay and the Basque Country) joining the Company catalogue and the Success stories sections.
