VII edition of the International Design and Creativity Festival
“Selected Europe From Bilbao 2016”
The VII edition of the International Design and Creativity Festival: “Selected Europe From Bilbao 2016”, is scheduled for the 18 and 19 November, at Azkuna Zentroa. The call, supported by Bilbao Town Hall and the Regional Government of Biscay, along with the Bilbao Bizkaia Design Council, brings Graphic design, Visual communication and Art creators together. Before holding the Festival, a sample with the selected Design projects will be exhibited at the regional company BEAZ’s facilities in October. The book Selected the book will include these projects. ■
The city of Bilbao will be hosting the V edition of the International Design and Creativity Festival: “Selected Europe From Bilbao 2016”, the 18 and 19 November, at the Azkuna Zentroa space.
This international call will offer the possibility to discover current trends in Graphic design and Visual communication. Furthermore, it will provide an in-depth view of creative processes developed by professionals and companies.
The programme, open to exchanging ideas and experiences, boasts the participation of leaders from the Graphic design and visual creation industry such as Julia Weems, Isidro Ferrer, Julie Katrine, Jürgen Salenbacher, Aquimaña, Muka Design Lab, Stone Design, Moruba, Regular Switch, Letters are my friends, Pep Martinex, Adobe and Design Bridge.
Contest, exhibition and book
Before holding the international meeting, 
(which received over 700 projects in the “Call for Entry”), of note is the exhibition in October, held at the regional company BEAZ’s facilities, of the sampling “Selected Europe From Bilbao 2016”, made up of a group of 30 to 40 projects.
In turn, this selection will be made based on the 200 projects chosen by the jury, composed of professionals with a noteworthy professional trajectory. Some of the people on the jury are manager of the Foundation BilbaoArte Fundazioa Juan Zapater, manager of EIDE, Benicio Aguerrea, and the professionals: Angélica Barco, Mónica Serentill and Amaya Castoldi. Representatives from university centres and professional associations complete this jury.
The book Selected the book will be published with the projects that are finally selected. The publication will be presented at the Festival.
The “Selected Europe From Bilbao 2016” is organised with the support of Bilbao Town Hall and the Regional Government of Biscay, along with the Bilbao Bizkaia Design Council. This initiative falls under Bilbao and Biscay’s belief in Design, Creativity and Culture as drivers for advanced economic activity. This is the fifth consecutive year that Bilbao is hosting this international meeting. ■
